It is widely known that every company must have a website, a place on the Internet with your name, your logo, all your relevant information and the way of contact and how to acquire your products or services. Or at least, that was until now. In the age of social networks, in which there is a social network for every aspect or need (whether to show information or sell products) ... Is it really necessary to create a corporate website?
Well, yes and no. Yes, because the fact of having a web page, not only allows you to communicate what you want, how you want it and in the format you want, but it confers confidence in potential customers. And no, because although necessary for the positioning of the brand, it is not really impressible to communicate who we are, what we do, how we do it, and how we sell it.
If you're looking to appear in business search engines, there are online directories such as Google, Foursquare or Swarm. If what we are looking for is the way to contact them, Facebook, Instagram or Linkedin (and many others) give us the way to do it. If what we are looking for is to distribute content, networks like youtube (video), WordPress (blog), Instagram (images) or SoundCloud (audio)), already provide us with their platforms for it; or if you are looking to sell online, there are solutions such as Amazon or Mercado Libre that provide us access to a reliable e-commerce platform.
So, if the multiple fan of social networks can solve the fact of not having a corporate website, then what is the most important thing we can do to raise interest in the Internet and get them to come across our brand?
Well, the most important thing is the content. A useful and quality content. A content that generates interest and that positions our brand. We do not mean with this that you should give up having a web page for your company, we simply suggest that if you are undertaking your business, and creating a website, it is an investment that now is an extraordinary effort; Creating good content will only cost you time, effort and creativity. Which it will be more useful than launching a website with no interesting content in it. In the internet, content is king.
But at the end of the day, a website is always a good investment, since a professional website, with good content, and with corporate emails, will always be a great tool to gain the trust of your customers.
